glock g17 vs 19

glock g17 vs 19

Glock G17 Vs 19 - Glock makes some of the best handguns in the world, used by the military, police and civilians around the world. While all of their pistols are very popular, the Glock 17 and Glock 19 probably take the top spots.

Both of these guns are very capable and effective. Both are chambered in 9mm and use similar designs, materials and testing standards. However, they also have significant differences that set them apart.

Glock G17 Vs 19

Glock G17 Vs 19

So today we are going to pit two of the best and most popular pistols the Glock 17 and 19 against each other and try to answer which one you should get.

Glock G17 Vs Glock G19 Size Comparison

*G17 and G19 have many model generations. In this article we will compare the GEN5 factory models.

In many ways the Glock 17 and 19 are the same. However, the Glock 17 is a full-sized pistol and the Glock 19 is more of a compact or mid-sized pistol. They shoot the same caliber, have identical triggers, and have the same rifles; However, the Glock 19 is a more compact pistol, with a shorter barrel, grip and bolt.

The Glock 17 has a 4.48-inch (114 mm) barrel, while the Glock 19 has a 4-inch (102 mm) barrel. With a shorter barrel, the overall length of the Glock 19 is also shorter. It is 7.28 inches (185 mm) compared to 8.03 inches (204 mm) on the Glock 17.

When it comes to concealment, which is what most compact pistols are designed for, grip height is a more critical factor than slide length. Therefore, the difference in the size of the grip is more pronounced than the difference in the length of the pipe. The Glock 19 has a 5.04-inch (128 mm) grip with the magazine, while the Glock 17 has a 6.50-inch (165 mm) grip height. In terms of frame width and overall width, the Glock 17 and 19 are the same size.

Glock 17 Vs. Glock 19… Which Would You Choose?

Perceived recoil and accuracy tend to depend on the shooter. However, as far as pistol capabilities go, both the Glock 17 and 19 are very accurate in the hands of even an average shooter. Technically, since the Glock 17's barrel is longer, in theory it should provide the bullet with greater stabilization at longer distances and thus be more accurate. However, it is realistically difficult to tell any difference between the accuracy of these pistols. Both are very accurate pistols due to many factors. However, the unique polygonal cutout used in the Glock pistol is one of the main reasons for its exceptional accuracy. Glock modified the rifling and crown on the Gen5 models to further increase its accuracy.

Again, both guns are pretty similar in terms of recoil. Despite the slightly shorter grip, the Glock 19 holds up well even for people with large hands. Weight also affects the recoil impulse of a firearm, and while the Glock 19 is lighter, there is no noticeable difference in recoil. A shorter gun should hit harder, but the difference is so small that a true expert would have to notice it.

In terms of magazine capacity, the Glock 17 holds 17 rounds of 9mm in the magazine, one in the chamber. Note that this is not why it is called a Glock 17. The "17" refers to the patent number, not the magazine capacity. The Glock 19 has a capacity of 15 rounds plus one in the chamber. A shorter slide means it carries a shorter magazine. However, you can use Glock 17 magazines in the Glock 19 if you want, or even opt for higher capacity magazines, but that would obviously reduce the coverage of the Glock 19 and technically it would no longer be a "compact" pistol. In terms of magazine capacity, both models can achieve the same capacity as the G19 can use G17 magazines.

Glock G17 Vs 19

Both the Glock 17 and 19 are excellent and versatile pistols that fit almost any use case. However, with their different sizes, they work better in some applications than others. For example, if you are looking for a full-sized pistol, perhaps for competitive shooting, or you want a home defense pistol that has more capacity out of the box, then the Glock 17 is a better choice. On the other hand, if you are looking for a concealed carry pistol, the Glock 19 is a better choice. Both pistols are excellent for defense and are widely used by law enforcement and military around the world.

Glock 19 Vs Glock 17– Bravo Concealment

So where both the Glock 17 and 19 are among the best 9mm semi-auto pistols in the world and can be used in almost any application, their slight differences set them apart. The Glock 19 is a better choice for concealed carry with its smaller frame and overall profile. On the other hand, the Glock 17 is better for home defense or shooting from all sides due to its higher capacity and larger dimensions. Still, many people use the 17 as their everyday pistol, and many use the 19 for defensive and competitive shooting. Both of these guns are so versatile that they can be used for any application. We often hear the word "revolutionary" associated with new products in the firearms world. However, the number of weapons that truly revolutionize the gun industry is relatively small.

When Glock introduced the G17, it really changed everything we thought we knew about rifles. The company quickly followed up with its smaller brother, the Glock 19. There are some subtle (and not so subtle) differences between the two pistols. In this post, we'll take a look at them and see how they stack up against each other.

Gaston Glock designed the Glock Model 17 in the early 1980s to be a candidate for the Austrian Army's new 9mm service pistol. It was not the first production pistol to use a polymer frame (that honor goes to the H&K VP70), nor was it the first to use a firing pin. The genius of the Glock 17 was that it took these elements and combined them into a simple, easy-to-maintain weapon that was light and accurate.

The Model 19 was the third Glock produced. (The Model 18 is a fully automatic version of the Model 17 intended for the Austrian anti-terrorist unit). It takes all the functions and features of the Glock 17 and scales them down slightly, creating a more compact weapon that is easier to carry.

Tested: Ruger Security 9 Vs Glock 19

As we mentioned, Glock originally designed the Model 17l for the Austrian military. As such, it was meant to be worn by soldiers in the field. Its accuracy, robustness and light weight have made it an attractive option for people. However, many shooters needed a slightly smaller gun.

Over the years, Glock has updated the design of its pistols. They've added features like textured grips and finger grooves for a better grip, as well as replaceable back straps for a better fit. They also slightly changed the internal mechanism in the latest Gen 5 models. For our comparison, we looked at the Gen 4 Model 17 and Model 19. Both have proven to be consistent and reliable performance devices for civilians, military and law enforcement.

In your hand, there is little difference between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19. The pistols are essentially the same, although the 19 has a slightly shorter grip.

Glock G17 Vs 19

The two guns have the same width (1.26 inches) and the same distance from the rear of the slide to the ejection port. Both the Gen 4 Model 17 and Model 19 have interchangeable back straps, although the Model 17 straps will not fit the Model 19 and vice versa. The Glock 19 in our photos is my personal Model 19. It has a backstrap with a small extension near the slide, which is different than what the Model 17 uses.

Gun Review: Glock G19 Gen4 Mos & G17 Gen4 Mos

The height of both guns is also different. The standard Glock 17 magazine holds 17 rounds, while the standard Glock 19 magazine holds 15 rounds. At 5.47 inches, the 17 has a frame that's just under half an inch taller than the 19's 5.04 inches. The 17 weighs 32.3 ounces unloaded. The smaller 19 model weighs 23.6 ounces.

Barrel and bolt length is where we see the biggest difference between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19. The Gen 4 Model 17 has a slide length of 7.32 inches and a barrel length of 4.49 inches. The Glock 19 has a slide length of 6.85 inches and a barrel length of 4.02 inches.

Due to the different length of the tube and sliding elements, the return springs are not interchangeable. However, all fire control parts in the frame are interchangeable between the two weapons.

We tested the accuracy of the Glock 17 and Glock 19 using three common brands of 9mm ammunition:

glock g17m

glock g17m

Glock G17m - Although the concept of the polymer percussion pistol did not originate with Glock, it was the company that brought it into the mainstream with great success. Since then, they have attributed the design philosophy to "evolution, not revolution." Each new generation has minor changes and adjustments, but the main idea remains the same. My department recently issued me a brand new Glock 17M. The 17M is the most recent iteration of Glock's successful 9mm and is identical to the commercial version of the pistol - the Glock 17 Gen 5. I found that while Glock stayed true to their design philosophy, the changes they made are real improvements and not just cosmetic changes.

Before I continue, I must share a brief history of my relationship with Glux. Before LEO training, I had never held a polymer pistol, let alone shot it. In the army, the only weapon I used was a Beretta M9. As a pie-eating citizen during the Clinton assault-prohibition years, when magazines holding more than 10 rounds became... expensive, I carried either a 1911 or a revolver, but the 1911 was the platform I had the most with. experience. Then came the Police Academy, where I was issued a Gen 2 Glock 22 with a NY-1 trigger. It was so dirty and weird that I thought something was wrong inside the gun and was embarrassed when I told the instructor that he thought my gun needed maintenance. He took it and shot it and told me that's what they're supposed to feel like. Not a great start.

Glock G17m

Glock G17m

Since then I've been given a Gen 3, then a Gen 4 Glock 22 with the stock trigger. I prefer the Gen 2 in most ways because the Gen 3 and 4 finger grooves don't fit my fingers, but either way, I've never been completely comfortable with the Glock in general. I guess you could say I've always liked the concept of the Glock but not the execution. I appreciate the simplicity of the weapon and I appreciate the idea of a backup weapon that can accept the same magazines as a main secondary weapon. The cost is reasonable, and the reliability and ease of maintenance make them an easy gun to own. I just didn't shoot the Glock 22 as well as the Sig P226 and the P226 didn't blister me so when given the choice I chose to carry the Sig.

The Unobtainable Fbi Glock 17m Is Now Obtainable

So, with the understanding that I'm not a "fan" or a "hater", let's dig into the actual 17M review.

A magazine fed gun isn't very good without the magazines, and there are a few changes to the new Gen 5 magazines that come with my 17M. The most obvious is that Gen 5 magazines have an orange follower. I'm not sure what the benefit of a high visibility follower is on a pistol magazine, but it makes it easy to tell a Gen 5 magazine from older magazines at a glance. Note that older generation magazines work fine in Gen 5 pistols, except those made before the replaceable magazine release was implemented, which will not work with a left-handed configuration. The magazine body does not appear to have changed and the capacity remains 17 rounds.

The most functional difference is a slightly longer base pad, which combined with a cutout at the front of the pistol grip, makes it easier to open a jammed magazine. The holes are accurate and all three of my magazines work as expected.

On the gun itself, the first thing that excited me was the lack of finger grooves. For those of us who have hands that don't match the slots and policy doesn't allow us to modify the weapon, this makes a world of difference. Not only is it more comfortable, but it promotes a better and more secure grip. The grip texture is probably in the Goldilocks zone for most customers for its roughness, but that's my only complaint with the 17M. I prefer a more aggressive texture as it started to feel a bit mushy once I sweated. Of course, there are plenty of wicking options for those who want a thicker texture and are not bound by a policy that prohibits such a change. The gun comes without a breech strap installed, but ships with four optional breech straps (two medium and two large breech straps, with and without beavertail). The strap holder is used as a tool to remove and install the pin.

Looking at the underside of the grip, you'll notice not only the aforementioned cutout for removing jammed magazines, but also a slightly flared magazine to help reload faster. allowing you to slip home instead of getting infected.

Scopes are always a bit personal, but I quite like the Amariglo scopes that came with my 17M. They're slightly smaller than the Trigicon HDs I've used before and feature a large orange dot on the front with a black reverse and three tritium inserts for low-light shooting. I've shot the 17M in lighting conditions from daylight to near-darkness and haven't encountered any situations where it was difficult to buy mirrors. Orange or tritium are always visible, and sometimes you can see a bit of both. Ameriglo sights are just one of three factory scope options available for the Gen 5 Glock 17. The pistol can also be purchased with simple three-dot night sights or Glock's standard OEM sights.

When Ameriglo scopes are used, the light gaps on either side of the front sight are wider than "regular" Glock sights. This can make precision work a bit more challenging, but the tradeoff is very fast sight acquisition. When I first got this gun the rear sight was not quite centered causing the gun to shoot 1 inch to the left at 10 yards. After a friend fired the gun to confirm the issue was a sight issue and not operator error, I moved the rear sight and it now shoots consistently across the front sight.

Glock G17m

The 17M is capable of greater accuracy than I have been able to obtain thus far. In controlled tests from a mechanical mount, these weapons are capable of firing groups of less than 2 inches at 25 yards. Several examples were less than 1" at 25 yards using the factory 147-grain bullets, and the best example I know of shot 0.76". That's pretty impressive for a utility pistol and well within the accuracy requirements of a service pistol. Although understanding the “why” of the increased accuracy is well beyond my skill set, I was told that the new Glock Marksman Barrel includes improvements to lock consistency, as well as changes to the multiples that led to this increased accuracy.

G17 Images, Stock Photos & Vectors

The trigger is very smooth - a world of difference from the grit and wear of my old Gen 2 and an improvement over even the decent trigger of the Gen 4. It feels similar to the Robar NP3 coated trigger - no grit at all, It feels like the pieces slide on contact, not scratch. The trigger is so good that I had to go back and dry fire it to really focus on the feel and do my best to describe it. Pulling the trigger starts with a smooth recovery before the trip, a bit of build up when you're near the break, an expected break, then ends with a clean restart. It does what it's supposed to do so well that you don't really have to think about what it's doing, it's just invisible. While "acceptable" is my usual adjective for a factory Glock trigger, the trigger pull on the 17M is pretty good. A friend of mine who is a Glock gunsmith capable of doing a very good aftermarket trigger job with them, shot my 17M and immediately declared it the best factory trigger he had ever felt on a Glock. Our experience levels with various Glocks are at opposite ends of the spectrum, so when we both agree, I think it's safe to say you'll love the new trigger.

Of course, Glock's latest design retains the trigger tab, an integral part of maintaining fall safety in Glock's "Safe Action" design. Because the tab is moving in a different plane than the clamp, a drop cannot exert enough inertia on both to allow the clamp to move backwards. The only change I can see to any "safe action" component is the firing pin safety plunger. It is now wedge-shaped and larger.

Other differences in the slider assembly are a stronger tab for the recoil spring assembly and the recoil assembly spring itself is longer. While the 9mm isn't known for being a recoil-heavy round to begin with, the Glock RSA does a very good job of it.

glock g17 vs g19

glock g17 vs g19

Glock G17 Vs G19 - The long-standing rivalry between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19 is one of the most contentious issues among Glock owners. People take this Glock 17 vs Glock 19 comparison seriously, and discussions about 'which is better' can get heated quickly.

I know, therefore, that I will receive several angry emails after writing this review, from people who claim that I have been deceived. I want to respond to those people before we go any further, by saying that I understand that the 'best weapon' is always the best gun for you.

Glock G17 Vs G19

Glock G17 Vs G19

If you prefer to shoot with the 17 or 19, good for you. Ultimately, having the right gun for you makes you a better shooter.

The Glock Encyclopedia Volume 1: The Basics

But I'm just going to come out and say it - in my opinion, the Glock 19 is better. The Glock 17 and 19 are exceptional weapons, using the latest materials and a simple and reliable design.

Both offer the same triple-safe-action mechanism, both are best-selling pistols, and both have deadly accuracy in the right hand. But - and it's a big but - the Glock 19, being a bit smaller, is better for concealment, and as such, it's my preferred gun.

This is not to simplify the issue. Let's look at the main points of similarity and difference between the guns, and why you should choose one over the other.

Let's go over some basics, for those of you who are new to this debate.

Glock 19 Vs Glock 26

The Glock 17 and Glock 19 are essentially the same gun, except that the Glock 19 has a slightly smaller barrel and grip. This means it is classified as a compact and not a full-size pistol.

Furthermore, the gun is really similar. Both chamber the 9mm cartridge, both are made from the same mix of steel and polymer, and both are valued by police and military forces around the world for their reliability.

When Gaston Glock, the Austrian genius, sat down to design a weapon in the early 1980s, he had no experience with weapons.

Glock G17 Vs G19

This made it a resounding success – the Glock 17 was quickly adopted by shooters across Europe, and even received a NATO stock number. 19, as a compact version, was first released in 1988.

Glock G17 Vs Glock G19 Size Comparison

Both weapons are constantly evolving, with the latest model being the Gen 4 series. It is slightly smaller than its predecessor, the Gen 3, although in all other respects the same.

Some veteran shooters prefer the older Gen 3 models, but in my experience, it makes no difference.

Again, in terms of cost, the two weapons are almost the same. In terms of handguns, both come in at the more expensive end of the range, but you get what you pay for when it comes to handguns.

Additionally, the fact that the Glock 17 and Glock 19 have been around for so long now means that there are plenty of accessories available for both, from great holsters to more advanced aftermarket sights.

Glock 19 Gen 4 Review

Well, the truth is that what is best for you depends on many factors. Let's look at some of the differences between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19.

The grip on the Glock 17 will extend beyond the hand of most users, while the grip on the 19 will go under your hand. The size difference also extends to the trigger mechanism, with the 19 being slightly tighter than the larger 17.

These differences will affect which one you prefer, but whether you are large or small. For most of us, although the difference in size is noticeable, no gun is too big or too small.

Glock G17 Vs G19

Of course, some people prefer the feel of a larger gun. On the other hand, having a small gun can increase the ability to conceal it (especially for women who do), which I'll talk more about below.

Glock 17 Vs. 19

This is the most common argument used by those who say the Glock 17 is a better gun.

With its longer barrel, he claims, the 17 is slightly more accurate than its smaller sibling. I hate to break them, but both in my experience and after some extensive research, I think they are wrong.

The reason for this is that the mechanical accuracy of the gun is generally less than your experience using it. Face it, a half-inch difference between the barrels of two guns is small compared to the skill of the person shooting them.

It is for this reason that makes a direct comparison of the technical accuracy of the two pistols somewhat pointless. Both may be more accurate than I can extract from them (and maybe you).

Five Reasons The Glock 19 Is A Great Carry Gun

So, by this criteria, I have to conclude that there is no difference between the Glock 17 and the Glock 19.

Technically, the Glock 17, being slightly heavier and larger, should have less recoil than the smaller Glock 19. However, in testing, this was not the case.

In fact, the difference in weight between the two guns is so small that it's impossible to feel it for most users, and the same goes for recoil.

Glock G17 Vs G19

Therefore, I'm tempted to suggest that people who feel a difference between the two guns in this regard are delusional.

Review: The Glock 17m Duty Pistol

The answer to this question is quite simple - both of these guns are Glock, and therefore reliable.

It is worth noting that the Glock 17, the older of the two models, was originally designed to replace WW2-era pistols used by the Austrian police, and therefore reliability was prioritized above all else in the design and production of the gun

In my personal experience, I have never seen a gun. I'm sure it's possible, through a series of handler errors, to rip people off, but for most people two guns are usually as reliable as they get.

In the discussion of which is the better gun, much has been made of the fact that the Glock 17 has a larger ammunition magazine than the 19. This is true - the standard magazine of the Glock 17 holds 17 rounds, the Glock 19 15.

Replica Review: Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Gen 4

Now. There are several important situations. If you're using your Glock for certain types of competition, for example, and you're really going to run through the magazine at once, it's worth looking for a larger magazine.

However, in my opinion, the difference between these two rounds means very little for practical purposes. Some will say that, in a self-defense situation, you can never have too many rounds in a magazine.

I imagine this is the same person who, under those circumstances, would fire a full magazine in two seconds, and probably hit it once. There is no point in planning your self defense strategy how many times you will miss.

Glock G17 Vs G19

If you need 17 rounds (or 5, for that matter) to kill an attacker, you should spend more time at the range.

Forget The Glock 17 Or 19: The Glock 18 Is A Real Life Machine Gun

Maybe. Perhaps, once in a hundred, a potential attacker will be better stopped by the Glock 17 than the 19.

But, by that logic, you might as well ask for an assault rifle. And frankly, if you're worried about half an inch, your insecurities won't be allayed by the Glock 17.

There are places where the different sizes of the two guns make a real difference, though, and that's where concealment comes into play. First, I'll point out that it's not the barrel size that makes the difference, it's the grip. The half inch taken off the Glock 19's grip makes concealment easier than the numbers would indicate, on paper.

If you are lucky enough to live in a warm climate, where thin shirts are common, the pistol grip is often more prone to punctures than the barrel, and therefore, the Glock 19 is preferable in these situations.

Glock 43 Vs. 19: Which Should You Choose?

All that said, however, concealment is more of an art form than a science, and the size of the gun is just one factor that can hide it as well. Where you carry it, and what kind of holster you use, can make all the difference. Additionally, your choice of clothing can contribute to concealment.

For that reason, I would not say that the Glock 19 is the perfect concealed carry pistol. These two guns are very well concealed. However, the 19's slightly smaller profile gives it an edge.

Glock G17 Review - Glock is known for making some of the most popular handguns on the market, and for good reason. A simple, reliable and powerful gun that seems to give an advantage in the industry - strange, right? Once you've developed an effective and efficient design, many "updates" and revisions end up being marketing gimmicks. The latest Glock 17 (Gen-5) is a handgun trusted by many in the LE community and military. Let's take a closer look at this pistol in this Glock 17 Gen-5.

I think it's safe for me to be up front and say that I own a few Glocks (including a Gen-4 Glock 17.) So, maybe I'm biased in my opinion. With that in mind, I don't like everything about Glock - and probably never will. My personal opinion is that it is important to look beyond loyalty, especially when it comes to firearms.

It's no secret that the Glock 17 holds a place of honor in the handgun community. With both government and private use, the G17 has become the standard for large guns. These Austrian-made polymer-frame 9mm pistols have seen widespread use since their inception in the 1980s. Whether you're a Glock fan or not, the name is undeniable.

Review: Glock G34 Gen 5 Mos

Glock released the Gen-5 line as the latest generation in 2017 (when we published this article) Each generation brings changes. Some of the changes seen in the Gen-5 G17 are minor while others are noticeable. The Gen-5 model features a better barrel, less fingertip, a forged and flared magazine, and a better fore sight.

With its full size and long barrel, the Glock 17 works well for most people. If you're used to shooting small, single-shot guns, the G17 will feel like a great gun. Of course not - but you get the idea.

When I was first given a Gen-5 Glock 17 to review, I felt right at home - not too different from the Gen-4 Glock 17 I own. The transitions are not that strong and generally fit in the palm of the hand, apart from missing the finger.

Like all other Glocks, the frame is flat and the quality is suppressed. The ergonomics and looks found in the Glock are things people love or hate.

Glock 17 Mos: First Look, It's Not Great

I took a closer look at the burning magazine quickly, as this was something you would find on the Gen-4 G17. For many, this is a nice touch that is directly related to fast and easy newspapers.

My experience with the Gen-5 Glock 17 in the range was mostly positive and limited. To recap, I've run hundreds of different types of ammunition through the G17. All ammo is well rounded - including Federal Premium 147 Gr. HST ammo I tried.

Performance-wise, I felt pretty confident with the G17 out to 25 yards. That's something I'll talk more about briefly, but the progress is obvious.

In terms of concealment, I don't see many people trying to conceal the G17. Unless you are a large person, it can be difficult to properly hide a frame without heavy parts. With that said, I feel the frame would work well for a belt that you carry under a jacket. Want to carry a Glock and need something smaller? Check out the Glock 19 or Glock 43.

Glock 17 Review: The Ultimate Do It All Handgun?

One of the most common questions I hear about Glock pistols is about the trigger. A lot of people don't seem too happy with the Glock trigger - including me. While the stock trigger is manageable in my opinion, the latter option is usually a better touch with a Glock.

The development of the Gen-5 G17 assembly has really impressed me. Proper rest and scheduled breaks really helped when I was pushing the shooting distance. General metal safety is built into the trigger. The shooter must stop this trigger to fire the pistol. I found the reset was easy and allowed me to quickly return to the "wall" to track shots.

My testing of the Gen-5 G17 used in this review showed an average pull weight of 5.4 pounds – exactly the same as the advertised weight.

I was lucky enough to miss the stock Glock polymer find for this review. We all know it's true - polymer stocks are generally short and difficult to shoot together. The model I tested had an Ameriglo night light. Although not my favorite place, they worked well for me.

Review: Glock Gen 5 G19

The color of the front combined with the background is usually a strong visual for me. I found myself needing a few goals but otherwise no problems with the sites provided.

Of all the handguns on the market, the Glock is the most popular because of its simple design and functionality. The Gen-5 Glock 17 provided a straightforward and enjoyable shooting experience. I really enjoy shooting Glock pistols and generally have no major issues with the design. That's not to say I don't have things I wish were different.

One of the unique features of the Gen-5 G17 is its unique slide construction. I thought it was strange that it was sitting on the line under my finger and I shot right. Unrepeatable magazine releases appear on the Gen-5 line. This also shows the level of involvement Glock aims for.

Glock G17 Review

While the Gen-5 G17's frame and slide offered plenty of action and grip, I found myself wondering how much better it would be if the front slide had a servo. Kudos to Glock for listening to the comments and dropping the finger here. "One size fits all" is generally not a good idea when it comes to design.

Umarex Glock 17 Gen5 T4e Paintball Marker: First Look

As I mentioned earlier, the Glock 17 embodies the core of the gun that resonates with many with its easy controls. My ability to track what is available for tracking only seems to be incredibly important with the Glock 17. If this is due to experience and experience with Glocks there are.

I did a muzzle velocity test as part of the review using the Federal Premium HST 147 Gr. Bullets - A standard round of defense. For this test, I used the Labrador tool and shot 5 units as my group. I will preface the answer by saying that Federal advertises a muzzle velocity of 1,000 feet per second on a 4″ barrel.

My tests showed an average nose velocity of 1004 feet per second - which is in line with the advertised bullet specifications.

From my perspective - it's really hard to go wrong with the Glock line. The Gen-5 Glock 17 offers unquestionable value for the price and is reliable to perform when you need it most. Glock options may not look fancy or have all the bells and whistles, but they work in almost any environment with close range ammunition.

Aftermarket accessories and parts are readily available for Glock pistols due to their popularity in the market. Finding the right holsters and flashlights shouldn't be a problem in today's practice.

Thousands of law enforcement officers and soldiers trust the Glock 17 with their lives every day - and the vast majority do so willingly. This is the name of the level of activity and responsibility if you ask me. For those in the market for a compact handgun, the Glock 17 Gen-5 is definitely worth a shot. The Glock 17 Gen 4 C02 powered BB pistol is a fun little handgun for regular use. Essentially, it's a very popular pistol for Glock 17 Gen 4 gun owners looking for an affordable way to get pull time.
